Learning Bengali…

It is Friday.  I don’t think I’ve breathed twice since Monday at 9:00am.  Today, we spent an hour learning to speak Bengali (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bengali_language) just to see what it feels like to learn a language from scratch.  It wasn’t easy.

I will do my very best to update you this weekend, but you haven’t missed much, and there is a TON of work to do this weekend.  And, it is going to be sunny and warm.  I hope the beach has wireless internet (it doesn’t.) because I owe many of you emails.

Anyway the update is more a status update.  I am alive.  And well!  I am also getting my ass kicked.  Seriously.  This is hard.  Really hard.  And I even like learning.  But I’m loving it.  I’m in Italy, I’m being challenged, and I’m learning a lot (as much about myself as about English grammar).  Tonight marks halfway through the course, though there is quite a bit to be done in the next two weeks.  Not including, oh, finding a job…

But I’m happy.  Really happy.  And, I’m in Italy.  :)

Fingers crossed when I sleep tonight my brain doesn’t leak out of my ears.

More soon!
